Border collie thriving after being found abandoned near Arbroath

The owners of an Angus animal welfare charity have highlighted the hard-luck story of one of their latest charges.
Meg, a border collie, was found abandoned on the outskirts of Arbroath.
The four-year-old bitch is thought to have been a failed farm dog, judging by her attempts to round up the other animals in the care of Angus Dog Rescue, a charity that looks after local strays.
She is also afraid of loud noises and is still integrating to home life but is coming on in leaps and bounds. Charity owner Ian Robb said he thinks she would make a wonderful family pet.
“Her hair was really matted when she came in, so she’d been outside a long time,” he said.
“As often happens in these cases, if a working dog isn’t able to work with the animals, then they can’t be kept. Meg’s coming along now and is a beautiful dog.”
The charity, previously called Help for Abandoned Animals, is based at the Kinaldie Holdings in Arbroath.
