Two public consultations will be held in Forfar to discuss plans to build around 300 homes in the town.
Elite Homes (Tayside) Ltd has lodged a pre-application notification with Angus Council for a site at Turfbeg, in the north of the town, which would also border a planned £24.5 million school community hub.
The plans for the housing could bring £50m worth of investment into the area and the men behind the pre-application Elite Homes (Tayside) directors Mark Guild and Norman McLagan are keen to meet with residents to discuss the project.
The first meeting will be held in the Lesser Reid Hall from 4-8pm and the second will be held at the same venue on Saturday between noon and 4pm.
The primary stage of the development could be finished in 2016 if the plans are accepted and Mr Guild, managing director of Elite’s associate firm Guild Homes, said the company is committed to delivering housing in Angus while employing local tradesmen in the building process.
Company representatives have already consulted with residents whose properties surround the proposed site and only three out of 23 have objected.
All neighbours, residents and interested parties are invited to attend the consultations and view the draft master plan for the project. Both directors have urged the community to come forward this weekend and provide their views.
