An Angus man was fined £350 after being caught drink driving on the A90.
Kevin Scott, 24, of Service Road Forfar, appeared at the town’s sheriff court where he admitted the offence.
The court heard how Scott had been out for drinks with friends in Dundee on April 12 but decided to go and stay with a friend after his companions moved on for more drinks.
His defence agent said: “He had been in Dundee that evening and had arranged to stay with a friend. He had a few drinks and his party moved into the town but he didn’t want to continue.
“However, his friends were not in and he couldn’t contact them and made the decision to drive home.”
Sheriff Kevin Veal fined the accused and also disqualified Scott from driving for 16 months.
The sheriff added: “Payment of a fine is not payment of a mail order club it’s a financial fine.”
