A lorry driver had an amazing escape on the A90 today when his vehicle toppled and smashed into the central reservation.
Emergency services rushed to the incident just south of Brechin at around 11.15am after the large Woolsey Freight vehicle crashed on its side, shedding its load of potatoes.
The male driver, who looked to be in his late 40s, was seen being led away from the cab by police with his arm in a sling.
A police incident support unit arrived shortly after 11.30am and BEAR Scotland set up traffic warning signs in both directions.
The cab of the lorry was slightly crushed and the windscreen smashed.
A section of the barrier dividing the two sides of the busy dual carriageway was flattened after being struck by the heavy good trailer.
Traffic was tailed back as far as the Brechin flyover for more than an hour after the incident until the road was cleared.
