Drunk man ‘risked lives’ after fall at Stonehaven rail station
ByGraeme Strachan
A man had to be helped off a Mearns rail track by staff after he fell down drunk.
He was among a group of three men crossing the tracks at Stonehaven station around 7.30pm on Saturday night.
The previous evening a group of teenagers were seen running across the tracks and police are now appealing for information.
British Transport Police Constable Paul Hamilton warned that lives were being put at risk by people running across the tracks at the station.
He said: “The railway is an extremely dangerous environment and anyone who trespasses on the tracks is putting themselves in real danger.
“I would also urge anyone who has information regarding the identity of those believed to have committed the offences to contact British Transport Police as soon as possible.”
British Transport Police can be contacted on 0800 405040, or information can be given to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
