Budding business leaders from Angus have been crowned best in Europe following a global enterprise competition.
Carlogie Primary in Carnoustie scooped a £1,000 prize after a business plan for a Fairtrade cafe beat entrants from across the continent in the Schools Enterprise Challenge (SEC).
As a result of the success, teachers and pupils were invited to attend the Commonwealth Observance Day in Westminster Abbey earlier this week.
And as if conquering Europe was not enough, the school also became the first primary in Scotland to achieve School of Co-operation status.
Co-operative Education Trust Scotland (CETS) recognised the cafe and a savings bank as two innovative projects that have benefited the school and the community.
Jim Hammond, head teacher, said: “We have been working with the CETS in promoting enterprise and cooperative learning within school, and I am delighted that the work of the school has been recognised with School of Co-operation status.”
