Transport Scotland will undertake a £150,000 programme of essential resurfacing works on the A90.
The works will cover the Stonehaven bypass between the B979 Netherley junction and Westport, a distance of around 2km.
Beginning on Wednesday for four nights between 7.30pm and 6.30am, the works will include strengthening and resurfacing of the carriageway.
Traffic management will consist of lane closures with a convoy system in place to ensure the safety of both the workforce and members of the public.
The works will be suspended overnight on Friday and Saturday and will recommence at 7.30pm on Sunday.
Andy Thompson, north- east operating company representative with BEAR Scotland, said: “These works are being carried out overnight to minimise delays to motorists.
“We would, however, encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance where possible.”
Breedon Aggregates Ltd and Euromark Ltd will carry out the works on behalf of BEAR Scotland.
