ByRob McLaren
Police have confirmed that the body recovered from the Arbroath shoreline on Monday is that of missing marine Ralph Hebden.
The marine, who served with 45 Commando based at Condor in Arbroath, had not been seen since March 11.
The discovery of his body followed an extensive missing person enquiry and several heartfelt appeals by his wife Sarah, who gave birth to a girl on March 22.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Tayside Division wishes to thank all those who lent their assistance and support to the efforts undertaken during the course of the investigation.”
He added: “There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Hebden’s death and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
