RESIDENTS IN the Angus Glens have been plugged back into the grid following repairs to a damaged telephone cable.
A number of households were disconnected from the outside world after their telephone and internet went down two days before Christmas after a cable in the Lintrathen exchange area was damaged during roadworks.
BT confirmed the damage was extensive and 150 metres of cable and duct needed replaced.
The company apologised for the delay, but confirmed the work was complete and all households affected should be reconnected.
A spokeswoman said: “The first fault reports came in to us on 23 and 24 December.
“As previously indicated, there have been some specific engineering challenges with this one and we’re sorry it has taken longer than usual to complete the permanent repairs.”
