More than 2,500 photos have been uploaded on to the page.
The Facebook page Montrose Memories recently welcomed its 3,000th member.
Meg Duncan, ne Hynd, grew up in Montrose but now lives in Melbourne, Australia.
She is the daughter of local postman Johnny Hynd and his wife Betty.
In 1977 Meg married Syd Duncan, who was an old friend of her father’s from the post office.
She said: “When you get older you want to know how people you once knew are getting on and the Montrose Facebook page has helped me find out how everyone is doing.
“All the memories I thought had been forgotten as I grew older have come back to me with the help of the page and its members.”
Montrose Memories went online in early October and has become a major hit with Montrosians.
More than 2,500 photos have been posted on a range of subjects relating to the town and its people. Those who sign up to the page can post old photographs to share with others.
