Legaston quarry plunge victim named as Gordon Brass

The 34-year-old man who died in a fall at a quarry near Friockheim on Friday has been named as Gordon John Brass, of Dundee.

Emergency services were called to the quarry at Legaston Farm at about 2.45pm.

It is understood Mr Brass man was among a group who had been rock climbing. It is thought he fell around 40 feet.

Ambulance staff were unable to resuscitate him at the scene.

A full investigation of the tragedy, involving police and officials from the Health and Safety Executive, is being carried out.
