The curtain is set to come down on Arbroath’s Year of the Light celebrations.
Tickets are now on sale for the final official event eight months after a rainbow of colours lit up the sky to mark the start of a year of celebrations.
The Year of the Light Ceilidh will be held on November 11 at the Meadowbank Inn, Arbroath.
Harry Simpson, chair of the Year of the Light Steering Committee, said: ”As well as the chance to dance the night away to the Inchcape Ceilidh Band, Arbroath British Legion Pipe Band will be out in force.
”In fact, one of the highlights of the evening will undoubtedly be the pipes and drums of Arbroath British Legion Pipe Band playing ‘Year of the Light’. This fantastic tune, specially composed by Pipe Major Stephen Russell, will forever be linked with Arbroath’s celebrations of the bicentenary of the Bell Rock Lighthouse.”
Tickets cost £10, with all proceeds going to charity. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by adults.
The Year of the Light began with the fabulous fireworks display held on February 1 exactly 200 years after the beam first shone out from Bell Rock Lighthouse in 1811.
