A motorcyclist has been killed in a multiple-vehicle crash on the outskirts of Brechin.
The horrific accident, involving two motorbikes and a car, happened on the A935 near Brechin Castle Centre at around 8.40pm on Wednesday night.
A 25-year-old biker from Montrose died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed but he has not been formally identified by police.
The man had been riding south from Brechin on an orange KTM motorcycle, with three other motorcyclists who were riding a black and dark blue Honda, a blue Aprilia and a blue Yamaha motorbike.
Police believe the KTM and Honda bikes collided, throwing their riders off. The man who died was then hit by a white Vauxhall Astra car.
Emergency services attended at the scene, but despite their best efforts the 25-year-old was pronounced dead. The other unseated rider, an 18-year-old, suffered minor bumps and bruises and was treated at the scene. No one else was injured.
The road was closed until about 4.45am this morning, while crash investigators carried out detailed examination.
Police are asking anyone who was in the Brechin area and who saw a group of motorcyclists to contact them on 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.
