Tributes have been paid to an Angus man who died in the second fatal crash on the county’s roads in three days.
The 25-year-old, named locally as Stephen McMillan, died on Wednesday night when he and another motorcyclist collided. Mr McMillan was thrown off his bike and was then hit by a car.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene.
Friends and family left messages of sympathy on his Facebook page in the hours after the tragedy.
Cousin Emma McMillan said: ”Stephen, you will always be in my heart forever! I will treasure all the memories we share. I can’t believe what’s happened and you’ve been taken from us.”
Friend Martin Hutchison wrote: ”God always takes the wrong people so you’ll be surrounded by good folk in heaven, RIP bud xxx.”
Mr McMillan had been riding south from Brechin on an orange KTM motorbike, along with three other motorcyclists who were riding a black and dark blue Honda, a blue Aprilia and a blue Yamaha.
It is understood Mr McMillan’s KTM and the Honda collided, resulting in both riders being thrown off. Mr McMillan then collided with a white Vauxhall Astra.
The other unseated rider, an 18-year-old, suffered minor bumps and bruises and was treated at the scene. No one else was injured.
Police are asking any witnesses to contact them on 0300 111 2222.
The tragedy brings the death toll on Tayside and Fife’s roads to five in only eight days.
