A man has been rushed to hospital after a car collision in Angus.
The driver, thought to be in his 50s, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after the incident near Stracathro Services on the A90 at around 12.30pm on Sunday.
Firefighters had to cut him free as his passenger looked on.
A Tayside Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the collision had involved two cars, one of which was parked in a layby at the time.
Emergency services personnel attended the scene, to find the driver of the parked car standing uninjured at the roadside with the passenger of the vehicle that had been moving.
Paramedics checked them over to ensure they were not seriously injured and did not require hospital treatment.
Both had been able to leave their respective vehicles on their own but the injured man, who had been driving the moving car, remained trapped until help arrived.
