Two men were trapped in a car that overturned after colliding with a van in Carnoustie on Tuesday.
The accident happened at around 1.15pm on the Carnoustie to Easthaven road.
The two passengers in a silver Renault Megane were lucky to escape with only minor injuries after the crash with a white Network Rail van, which led their car to flip over and settle on its roof.
Two appliances from Tayside Fire and Rescue were called to help free the men.
The driver and passenger of the car were taken to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance after the accident. It is understood their injuries are minor.
The driver of the van was uninjured.

* A woman was hurt in a collision with a car in Arbroath’s Keptie Street yesterday.
The accident happened outside the Anchor Bar around 9.05am. Police and an ambulance attended and a stretch of the road was closed for a short time.
She did not suffer serious injuries and was treated at the scene.
