Emotional tributes to Arbroath girl Amber Beaton

Emotional tributes to Arbroath girl Amber Beaton

Tributes have been paid to a popular Angus schoolgirl who has died at the age of 15.

Fourth-year pupil Amber Beaton was found dead at her family home in Arbroath’s Keptie Road on Monday morning.

Amber was a keen member of the local athletics and basketball teams.

Iain Orr, headteacher at Arbroath High School, said: ”The pupils and staff of Arbroath High School were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Amber Beaton.

”Amber was a popular fourth-year pupil who was actively involved in school life, particularly sports, having represented the school at various netball, basketball and athletics events.

”The thoughts of all of the members of the school community are with Amber’s family at this very sad time,” he said. ”She will be greatly missed by her school friends and teachers,”

Amber, who was one of eight children, had spent the summer doing work experience as a ranger at Crombie Park.

Her mum Wilma Reid (44) owns Reid Taxis along with her dad Malcolm Beaton (54).

Her Facebook page has been flooded with tributes since news of her tragic death emerged.

Leanne Robertson said: ”If only I had one more minute to say I love you Amber one last time and give you the biggest hug in the world I would!

”I have been thinking about our good times, and they put one big smile on my face.”

Chloe Madge said: ”Can’t get over it baby, you were amazing. I’m gonna miss you so much, but make sure you’ve still got that cheeky smile on your face for all of us down here. Love you and never ever going to be forgotten.”

Colin Ogilvie said: ”We were like two peas in a pod. We had such good times that only me and you could laugh about it.

”Me and you used to text everyday. You were one of a kind and I will always love you forever.”

Melissa Pattison said: ”R.I.P Amber gone but never forgotten. Every five minutes I feel tears fall from my eyes. Sleep tight gorgeous!”

A police statement confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Amber’s death, but officers are carrying out inquiries into what may have led to the tragedy.

”Our thoughts are with Amber’s family and friends at this very sad time,” the statement added.
