A drunk Angus mum-of-two was said to be ”mortified” after assaulting two police officers.
Louise McLoughlin (30), of Ravensby Road, Carnoustie, previously admitted that on February 9 at MacDonald Street Drive she assaulted two police officers by repeatedly kicking them on the legs.
She further admitted resisting arrest and struggling violently with them and lashing out with her arms and legs.
Depute fiscal Hazel Anderson said McLoughlin had been found lying unconscious on the road around 11pm and police were called. Officers arrived to find her smelling of alcohol and called an ambulance.
She was moved to the rear of the ambulance and kicked one of the officers on both legs. She then kicked the other officer on the right legs before being handcuffed and put in a police van.
A defence agent said she had no recollection of events and was heavily intoxicated.
The agent said: ”She was on medication and that mixed with alcohol had a horrific effect on her and she was really in no state to be out and about. She is mortified by her actions and this has caused her a great deal of embarrassment.”
Sheriff Peter Paterson put her on a community payback order for a period of three months. She must carry out 70 hours of unpaid work.
