An Angus man who seized a teenager by the ears before repeatedly headbutting him has appeared at Arbroath Sheriff Court.
David Hepburn (28), from Warddykes Road, Arbroath, previously admitted assaulting the 16-year-old to his injury and conducting himself in an aggressive manner, kicking shutter doors, shouting and swearing and committing a breach of the peace, in the town’s Grant Road on April 13.
Hepburn further admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance and giving false details to police, on the A933 Arbroath to Brechin Road on Saturday.
The court heard Hepburn had last appeared in the dock in 2009.
Hepburn’s defence agent told Sheriff Peter Paterson that his client had secured employment and had been working for the last three months.
He said Hepburn would rely on his girlfriend for a lift to his workplace, but she had taken ill that day, leading to him taking the ”foolish” decision to drive himself in a bid to keep his job.
Police stopped his car a Nissan Micra near Friockheim, and made an arrest after discovering he was banned from driving.
Sheriff Peter Paterson disqualified Hepburn from driving for five years, ordered him to pay £200 compensation and fined him £800.
