Former Angus teacher struck off by General Teaching Council for Scotland

A former Angus teacher has been struck off.
A disciplinary panel decided that Karen Kennedy had ”acted dishonestly, abused her position of authority and committed serious breaches of trust in her dealings with colleagues” and was unfit to teach.
The General Teaching Council for Scotland found her guilty of several charges, including accessing other people’s emails without permission and failing to keep secure login and password details of a council laptop.
She also made false allegations about a council employee, submitted false details to try to provide an alibi for her whereabouts on a particular day and acted inappropriately towards colleagues.
However, an allegation she used a laptop to download and store pornographic material was found not proven.
Ms Kennedy, who used to work at Andover Primary School in Brechin, did not attend Monday’s hearing in Edinburgh.
