Police identify body found on shore near Monifieth

Tayside Police have identified a body that washed up on the shore near Monifieth on Monday as a 79-year-old woman from Dundee.
A dog walker made the discovery around 7.30pm close to the Barry Buddon army training range. Officers are continuing inquiries into the incident.
The body is the second to be found in the area since the weekend, following the discovery of a 43-year-old man in the Tay estuary on Sunday.
A formal identification of the man’s body is understood to have taken place on Tuesday and there appear to have been no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
The police have not linked the incidents. Both families have been informed and sudden deaths reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.A body recovered from Kirkcaldy beach on Monday afternoon has been identified as an 86-year-old man from Glenrothes, police have confirmed.The discovery was made after a search involving the coastguard, Kinghorn Lifeboat and police.
There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
