A man continues to fight for his life following a serious Angus road accident.
The 51-year-old was walking just outside Forfar on Friday night when he was involved in a collision with a van on the A932 near Lochlands.
The accident happened just before 10pm at Duff’s Corner, where the white Fiat Doblo was travelling southwards.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the pedestrian was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, after sustaining what police described as a lifethreatening head injury. His identity has not been released, but it is believed he may be from the Dundee area.
The A932 was closed for some time to allow a full investigation into the accident. Police have launched an appeal for information.
A spokesman said, “The male pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and was walking southward on the A932.”
