A 69-year-old man remained in hospital on Sunday after being involved in a collision with a car in Montrose.
The incident happened on Baltic Street shortly after 1pm on Saturday and police closed the road while a full crash investigation was carried out.
The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital with head injuries and was undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, a delivery driver had a lucky escape on Saturday when his articulated lorry jack-knifed on one of Dundee’s busiest roads.
The vehicle, belonging to Sainsbury’s, had been travelling on the southbound carriageway of the A90 Forfar Road when it skidded on a patch of ice and careered out of control.
No other motorist was involved, but the lorry was left stranded by the roundabout next to the Toyota garage at Powrie Brae.
A queue of traffic quickly built up and at its worst the tailback stretched for five miles.
Police were alerted to the scene shortly after 10.30am and directed cars and smaller vehicles around the crash site.
Many lorries were forced to sit on the dual carriageway while officers waited for a lull in the northbound traffic to let them pass the roundabout the wrong way.
The road was eventually reopened again shortly before 2pm.
