Deputy Lord Provost Christina Roberts was among those attending the peace parade in Dundee city centre. Earlier she unveiled a new peace pole at the Peace Gardens outside McManus Galleries.
A new peace pole has been unveiled in Dundee.
Deputy Lord Provost Christina Roberts unveiled the new pole at the city’s Peace Garden, outside the McManus.
The raising of the new pole was accompanied by a reflection and procession through the city centre.
A flag ceremony to promote world peace also took place in the City Square.
Commenting on this year’s events, Dr Julie Wardrop of Nilupul Foundation said: “We were thrilled to be finally planting the peace pole in Dundee and we hope that all of this year’s Peace Day events will be an inspiration.”
