It is nine years since Dundee hosted the festival at Camperdown Park. Thousands of fans flocked to Dundee to see acts including Pink, Gnarls Barkley and Muse. Now music fans want to bring the festival back to the city in May. So far more than 4,000 have liked the Get the Radio 1 Big Weekend to Dundee Facebook page since it was launched last week. However, the city will face some tough competition as other towns, such as Lincoln, have already attracted more than 20,000 supporters. Last year’s Big Weekend was held in Glasgow. Pharrell Williams and Kasabian were among the acts performing at the two-day event.
