Claypotts junction work ‘progressing’ well despite weather

Commuters have been assured that recent bad weather will not delay the completion of roadworks at Dundee’s Claypotts junction.
Rain, wind and snow caused significant disruption soon after the works started again on January 12, but the council is confident the project will end as planned on February 9.
“I know there have been a few delays due to the weather, but as long as it stays fine we should generally be on time with everything,” said Councillor Will Dawson.
“It’s a complex junction, but as far as I know work is progressing well.
“The old lights had been there for two decades, so it was time we got a new set.
“This way, controlling the junction will be much easier.”
While the lights at the busy interchange are being refurbished, traffic will not be able to travel between Claypotts Road and Arbroath Road.
An alternative route will be available for eastbound traffic approaching Scott Fyffe roundabout via Strips of Craigie Road, A930 Dundee Road and Claypotts Road.
Westbound traffic on Arbroath Road will be diverted via East Balgillo Road, Balgillo Road and Claypotts Road.
Bus services have also been diverted.
