The Dundee-based brother of murdered aid worker David Haines has begun a trip around the UK promoting peace.
Mike Haines, who has visited numerous religious sites, said he was obliged to act after so-called Islamic State militants beheaded his brother.
The 48-year-old said: “I am travelling around various places in the UK at the moment trying to spread a message of unity and tolerance.
“I have been visiting mosques, cathedrals, churches, all sorts of different places across the UK. The aim is to fight division of our communities.
“I am trying to fight what the extremists by their breeding of intolerance, fear and suspicion are doing to our communities. I call it working for unity.”
Mr Haines is also backing a new website which was founded by Barbara Henning, the widow of murdered British hostage Alan Henning, encouraging people to report extremist material.
