Springfield properties have taken a step toward ambitious Western Gateway plans.
A planning application has been submitted this week for junction improvements to the Swallow Roundabout on the A90 to accommodate traffic for the new development.
The first 230-home phase was granted planning permission last year amid farcical scenes at Dundee City Council that saw one section of the application approved and the other rejected.
The development will include two, three, four and five bedroom homes.
Springfield’s chairman Sandy Adam said: “We are dedicated to working with the council to develop a new village at Dykes of Gray.
“This is the next step in realising our joint ambition. We have designed this new village to be a community.
“There will be something for everyone, from those buying their first home to those that have a family already.
“This will be a place that children will grow up and come back to have their own families.
“This will be the first time that people in Dundee will be able to benefit from our unique approach to housebuilding.
“We don’t begin to build until our customers have told us what they want. And our homes offer unrivalled value for money because we include much more in the price.
“Customers are already visiting our Blairgowrie development to see what we can do for them.”
Following interest in the development Springfield aims to open a sales office in Dundee.
