A Dundee community is buzzing with the news it may have a new millionaire in its midst.
Premier Hayat’s Supersave has announced that a winning jackpot ticket had been purchased by a lucky local winner.
Taking to Facebook late on Monday night, the outlet posted a picture of an official National Lottery poster bearing the name and address of the Happyhillock Shopping Centre store which stated: “Winning Jackpot Ticket Sold Here.”
The shop’s management posted a statement urging social media users to spread the good news online. They said: “Wow! Wow! Wow! We have just been informed by the National Lottery that we issued a winning jackpot ticket.”
Within an hour the shop’s post had been ‘liked’ almost 100 times and scores of local customers contacted them to find out more.
A spokeswoman for National Lottery operators Camelot said the holder of the winning Lottery ticket in Dundee has declined any publicity.
All she could say was that the ticket was sold some time within the last six months. She could not put a value on the jackpot won in Dundee but said the average payout is £2.1 million
