Kickboxer Ronnie Clark pleads for support from home city

A Dundee kickboxer has hit out at the lack of facilities made available for him to train for his fights in the city.
Ronnie Clark won the WKA professional world title in the under-60kg lightweight division, defeating Jose Perez of Portugal at a match in Paisley town hall.
Despite his achievements, the 25-year-old from Whitfield is angry about having to travel to Paisley to prepare for bouts.
“There is a lack of support for me not from my friends and family but from sports associations,” said Ronnie.
“I’ve done this since I was seven years old but I’m travelling through to Paisley because I don’t get support in Dundee.”
Around 100 people travelled from Dundee to watch Ronnie who trains under seven-time world champion Lex Easdon win his last title.
He wants to be able to train closer to home and has written to every gym in Dundee asking for help for example with discounted rates for the eight weeks he spends building up to a fight.
However he said all of his requests were either rejected or flatly ignored.
