A Dundee teacher arrived home from school on Thursday to find 30 items of mail for six different houses in another street dumped through her letterbox.
The teacher, who asked not to be identified publicly, put the lot in the nearest postbox on her way to school on Friday.
Like many other locals she has become frustrated with Royal Mail due to the poor service recently.
The Dalkeith Road woman said, “I have been getting a weekly newspaper posted to me for about 10 years but it has been very erratic over the last few weeks.
“I phoned and they say they are sending it out and the problem is up here.”
She added, “When I came home tonight I was not best pleased to find 30 pieces of mail sitting here for six different people in Dalgleish Road.”
She says she has no intention of re-delivering the mail herself and has tried phoning Royal Mail but just gets recorded messages.
“There are piles of letters for various numbers,” she said, adding that it looked like the postman simply couldn’t be bothered to deliver the mail to the proper addresses and stuffed the lot through her letterbox.
“It looks like bills, Christmas cards, one has come from South Africa.”
She added, “I am going to put the lot back in the postbox at the end of the road.
“I am not delivering all these. It’s (Dalgleish Road) a bit beyond just popping next door.
“It’s hardly been a mistake. They are marked for six different addresses in Dalgleish Road.”
The woman said, “I don’t understand why he’s done it.
“It’s a bit stupid to throw it all in one letterbox.”
