A Dundee housing scheme descended into chaos as a massive street brawl broke out near a shopping centre.
Up to 30 youngsters were reported to have been involved in the melee that broke out on Balmoral Terrace in Douglas at around 6.30 last night.
It is thought many had been drinking, with one of those involved said to have been left lying in the middle of the road while being kicked by a group standing over him.
One witness, who did not wish to be named, told The Courier, “It happened so quickly. I think they had been drinking beforehand and they all looked young.
“I saw one lad lying on the ground and called the police. They were here in a couple of minutes so I think somebody else had contacted them before me.
“I’ve never seen anything like this here before.”
Last night police confirmed they had attended Balmoral Terrace and had spoken to groups of youths, taking names of those possibly involved.
The ambulance service said it had not received any calls to the street during the evening.
