Visitors are being offered the chance to bring their family history to life this weekend as part of Dundee Science Festival.
Dundee-based brightsolid, one of the country’s leading IT companies, is holding an event on Sunday to help people trace their family history.
During the afternoon, the brightsolid team will give an insight into where to start a search, the power of community to support a search, how to access the Scottish records and the process of building an online family tree.
The free event is at the DC Thomson building in Meadowside, Dundee. Talks will take place each hour from 12-4pm and there is no need to book.
Chris van der Kuyl, chief executive of brightsolid, said: ”Brightsolid is delighted to be involved in this year’s Dundee Science Festival. As a company at the cutting edge of online innovation and science, it’s a fantastic opportunity to give the wider community an insight into what we do and share some of our latest developments.”
The DC Thomson Shop at will be open on Sunday from 11.30am to 5pm to coincide with the brightsolid family history event. There will be a special promotion of 10% off all gifts.
