The Unicorn is making waves online with the launch of an internet booking system.
As part of fundraising efforts, supporters want to attract more local visitors below decks and hope the new system will help.
Unicorn Preservation Society operations director Roderick Stewart says maintaining the ship is pointless unless it has the support of the Dundee people.
He said: ”There has been an enormous amount of work carried out over the last 12 months both inside and outside the ship.
”But what we are very keen to see is for more local support to enjoy the Unicorn. She has been here in Dundee for 140 years 50 years before the Caird Hall.”
The first event to use the system is a series of Winter Monday talks. It will be taken by the former Japanese POW Alistair Urquhart whose autobiography, The Forgotten Highlander, is a best-seller.
Mr Stewart said: ”He is one of Dundee’s iconic figures speaking in what is one of Dundee’s iconic venues.”
