Fifteen children by 13 mothers Dundee man Jamie Cumming dubbed Britain’s most shameless father

A Dundee politician has expressed dismay at the revelation that a 34-year-old unemployed city man has become the father of a 15th child with his 13th different partner with reports of more children on the way.

Conservative group leader Rod Wallace said the behaviour of Jamie Cumming branded Britain’s most shameless father gives a terrible impression of people and life in Dundee.

Mr Cumming, who has had a series of jobs from barman to security guard but has never settled, is unable to pay maintenance for any of his children and most of the young women with whom he has had children are on benefits.

His mother Lorraine Cumming has disowned him and has called on him to take some responsibility for his life.

Mr Cumming became a dad at 17 and in the following 17 years he has had children with another dozen women. His latest partner went into labour on Friday to give him another child and it is understood he is due to become a father again in the new year.

He was with one of his partners for several years, but she was not able to give him a child despite IVF treatment. During their relationship he fathered at least four children with other women.

His eldest child, who is 16, spoke earlier this year of the heartache Mr Cumming had created. She no longer speaks to him after she tried to confront him about his lifestyle and he told her to ”mind her own business.”

Mr Wallace said Dundee spends a lot of time, effort and money on schemes to educate young people on the importance and value of relationships and the responsibilities that go with parenting.

”It is very disappointing that all of this very important work is shoved to one side by the behaviour of this person,” he said. ”I hope the example that this man sets is a warning to other young women in Dundee to have nothing whatsoever to do with Jamie Cumming.

”It is disappointing that he can’t be taken to task by making him responsible for his actions, which have been to bring children into this world for the State to support and provide for.

”I hope for their sake that the young women who have given him children have the support of their own families to bring up his children, whom he seems to have cast aside.”

Mr Cumming’s last known address was in the Happyhillock area of the city but our reporter who went there at the weekend could fine no trace of him. It is thought he is now living in a caravan in the Dundee area.
