A Dundee man branded as Britain’s most shameless father has hit out at allegations he has 15 or more children from at least 13 different mothers.
Precise figures for his number of children and partners vary, and in a statement to The Courier Jamie Cumming (35) took issue with some of the details that had been reported.
The unemployed lothario denies he has as many children as has been reported, and hit out at the ”constant” press attention on him and his family.
He also said he is not the father to a baby born six weeks ago to a teenager in Ninewells Hospital, as was reported in a Sunday newspaper this weekend.
He continued: ”Reporters have jumped to the wrong conclusion because the boyfriend of the mother is also called Jamie. He is the father of the child.”
Mr Cumming said claims he has been on unemployment benefits for the past four years are also false.
He said: ”I have the documents to prove I have only been unemployed for the last six months. I strongly deny these claims and I deplore the highly adverse effect the pressure of constant press attention is having on my family.
”I do not care what is written about me in the papers but when it starts affecting my family it has to stop.
”One of my daughters is being picked on at school and her mother has been abused in the street. Another relative has been taken into hospital because of the stress of media attention.”
He added: ”I am not perfect, but there is no way I am the father of 16 different children.”
