Dundee revellers to be offered new night bus service

Dundee is set to get a bus service running until 3.30am.
National Express Dundee wants to introduce the route in May to try to profit from the city’s night-time economy.
Phil Smith, director of National Express Dundee, said the new weekend service will be trialled through the summer and, if successful, could be made permanent.
”We’re working on a product that will provide late-night bus facilities in the city from the spring of this year,” he said. ”We’re aiming to cater for late-night and early-hours revellers and people that want to take advantage of the nightlife the city has to offer.
”You will see a night service of some type operating during the summer months.”
The plan has not yet been registered with the traffic commissioner, but negotiations have taken place with with the trade union over the working procedures.
The late-night buses will follow a route to the city centre. That is expected to run from Broughty Ferry to a point near to the Grosvenor Casino in Dundee.
However, Mr Smith refused to confirm any details.
