Police in Dundee took a man away for questioning after two suspicious fires in neighbouring multis in Lochee within an hour of each other on Sunday.
The first outbreak was on the 15th floor of Elders Court about 9.40pm when smoke was seen coming from behind a locked door near the rubbish chute.
A crew from the Blackness Road fire station rushed to the scene and extinguished the outbreak.
The firefighters ventilated the area to help clear the smoke. A small amount of damage was caused and no one was injured.
An hour later the crew was called to Adamson Court next door to deal with an outbreak on the seventh floor of the stairwell.
Station officer Bruce Scott said the source of the second fire had been difficult to locate as firefighters found the section of stairwell between the 11th and 15th floors smoke-logged.
After a sweep of that section they worked their way down to the seventh floor where they discovered a smouldering pile of rubbish which had been the source of the outbreak.
Police spoke to tenants and were later seen taking a man away for questioning.
