Mobile phone firms apply to erect 3G mast on Forthill Road

Mobile phone operators Telefonica and Vodafone want to put up a 15m mast in Broughty Ferry.
They have chosen a site at the corner of Balgillo Road and Forthill Road. It would replace a Telefonica mast several hundred yards away and allow Vodafone to extend its 3G coverage in the area.
In a planning application, the companies’ agents say: ”Balgillo Road is a local distributor route in a predominantly residential area. The area is characterised by mainly single-storey and two-storey properties.
”Within the street scene are 10m-high streetlighting columns, telegraph poles and nearby, a bus stop and bus shelter. Having regards to these factors, it is considered that the design will not look out of place in its proposed location.”
