Dundee football team celebrate life of tragic teammate Shaun Kelly

A winning Dundee football team will raise their league’s most sought-after trophy at the end of this season but the celebrations will be tinged with sadness.
The trophy will be named after 20-year-old Shaun Kelly, who died this month playing the sport he loved.
His mother Ann McKay said she was ”very proud” of the gesture by Dundee Saturday Morning Football League.
She said: ”It will keep Shaun’s name going, he would have been so happy.
”It’s a really good thing to be doing in his memory. It just shows how much respect the other players had for him.”
”It didn’t matter to him who he played for. He just wanted to be with his mates and have a kickabout.”
The league will rename its Referees Cup in honour of Shaun’s memory.
He was set to become a father for the second time in May but collapsed on the pitch at Drumgeith Park while playing for Thomson Gunners and died in hospital shortly afterwards.
The league will now give players first-aid and CPR training, a move backed by Shaun’s family.
Ann and Shaun’s brother Steven said the family were still trying to understand the tragic events of March 10.
