Police in Dundee have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted with a weapon in the city on Saturday afternoon.
Talk spread that the man had been stabbed in the Stobswell area.
One local man said: ”We heard some people say someone got stabbed but I never saw anyone injured. There were four or five police cars and an area taped off between the cars.”
Resident Malcolm Christie (43) said: ”When I was going to work there were a lot of police vans on Brown Constable Street. There were two constables with police dogs, too.”
A spokesman for the police said: ”Tayside Police are making investigations following an altercation in the area of Victoria Street, Brown Constable Street and Callander Gardens about 4.40pm on Saturday.
”A male was assaulted with a weapon and suffered injuries to his head and body. He was conveyed to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance but his injuries are not life-threatening.”
