Homeowners at Dundee’s City Quay have met up to continue their fight against price hikes by a property maintenance firm they feel is overcharging them.
Residents gathered in the garage space under an apartment block in South Victoria Dock on Tuesday night as their campaign to fight for lower fees from the current factor Ross and Liddell gathers pace.
Earlier this year, The Courier revealed residents are facing a near 75% increase in their fees.
The price hike is partly due to occupants being hit with a double yearly charge for maintenance of the harbour after a mix-up with the timing of the yearly invoice from the Port Authority to the factors.
It is understood that before fees can be renegotiated a majority of residents must be in favour.
Local resident Mike Baxter, who organised the meeting, added: ”We have approximately 32 residents in support of what we want to do.
”I need 49 in order to have a clear majority, but I want all 96 to give their support.”
Also in attendance was local councillor Craig Melville who said he would do what he could to help.
