A Good Samaritan has spoken of her devastation after she was robbed as she helped a man lying in a pool of blood on a Dundee street.
June King says she is struggling to sleep at night following the theft.
The 48-year-old mum of two from Ardler was helping a man who had suffered facial injuries and was lying on the ground close to the Snug Bar on Main Street when the criminal struck.
Ms King had left her bag in the taxi she was travelling in while she went to the injured man’s aid.
Police are now investigating the theft and officers are appealing for public help.
The driver of the taxi, which was taking her from The Barrels pub where she had been hosting a karaoke night, had seen the man lying on the pavement and stopped to see if he was OK.
Ms King said: ”The taxi driver asked if we could stop because there was a boy on the pavement bleeding and I got out to help him.
”I don’t know what had happened to him he was just lying on the pavement outside the pub. His face was all bust.”
As they attempting to assist the man a thief entered the taxi and took Ms King’s bag.
”It had everything in it my phone, house keys, money and they’ve just lifted it,” she continued. ”I’m totally gutted and I’m not sleeping.”
A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said the force had been notified of the crime, which occurred at around 12.30am on Monday.
