Charities benefit from Grove Academy pupils’ passion for fashion

Grove Academy pupils were looking the part as they modelled their own creations at a charity fashion show.
Pupils from S1 to S6 strutted their stuff in designs of their own making, from high end ball gowns fit for the red carpet to everyday outfits made from old and recycled clothes.
Garments from local charity shops were also donated to pupils for Thursday evening’s show, while teachers showed they were game for a laugh by performing a dance routine on stage.
Mary Holligan from the school said: ”A huge amount of effort went into the show. Some of the designs from the Higher art pupils are more like constructions.”
Proceeds are to be split between the annual school charity, which pupils are still to select, and the PTA.
