Car knocks lamppost into front garden of Dundee home

A lamppost crashed into a front garden after being struck by a car in Dundee.

No one was in the garden in Macalpine Road when the incident occurred before 5pm. The driver of the Ford vehicle is understood to have lost control of the car when heading north on the road near the junction with St Kilda Road.

The car struck the lamppost which then toppled on to the gate and on to an upturned trailer parked in the driveway.

The front section of the car was damaged and the gate and trailer were buckled by the impact. A crew from Tayside Contracts removed the lamppost with lifting gear.
