Bidding for cricketer Kevin Pietersen’s Ashes shirt in a Dundee woman’s charity auction for Cancer Research UK “went crazy”. Within half an hour of Terri Smith starting her auction on Twitter she had received a bid for £1,000. She said: “There is a lot of interest in the shirt and it’s going amazing. “I didn’t start it at anything I just let my Twitter followers bid and it went crazy after £300.” Terri is bracing herself for a bidding war once Pietersen retweets it to his 1.3 million followers. She is raising money in memory of her granddad. The proceeds from a charity fans’ football match in Dundee at the weekend have taken her fundraising total to more than £10,000. The auction will close at 9pm on Monday.
