Dundee and Angus College art project is bearing fruit
BySteven Dinnie
Dundee and Angus College students have been working on a project which could literally bear fruit.
A total of 15 students from the BA design and creativity programme have collaborated with Dundee Urban Orchard (DUO), the art project which plants small orchards across the city.
The group designed various items, including booklets, leaflets, a public bench and social spaces inside the planted areas.
The BA students began collaborating with Jonathan Baxter of DUO last October and this week saw the creation of an exhibition of the work related to the project being opened in the atrium area of Gardyne Campus.
The exhibition will run until the planting of an actual orchard at the campus on Friday.
Chris Alexander, course leader, said: “This project has offered a great opportunity for students to take part in a project that will literally grow.”
