Tommy Sheridan angry after Abertay University debate snub

Tommy Sheridan has slammed Abertay University after he was dumped from a debate.

The left-wing, pro-independence campaigner was due to take part in an event on September 8 with two other Yes representatives against three Better Together representatives.

A panellist has now been chopped from either side for the student-only educational event, leaving Mr Sheridan furious at organisers’ focus on speakers “who hold office as elected MPs or MSPs”.

However, no speakers have been confirmed.

He said: “I’m disappointed that at late notice I’ve been dropped from a long-standing invitation not just for another speaker but I’ve been dropped and they don’t know who’s going to replace me.”
