Police have yet to ask if public can see this attempted armed robber’s face

Police have still not officially asked for permission to release full CCTV footage which would unmask an attempted armed robber.
Officers investigating the attempted robbery at the Forfar Road Shell garage on Tuesday October 7 released CCTV images of the man’s body and jacket but cut out his head and face.
Although images of the culprit’s face do exist, the police have yet to ask if they can be released to the public.
It means that the face showing the man who threatened a woman with a knife and demanded money from her has still not been revealed and two weeks on from the incident, the culprit remains at large.
A Crown Office spokesman said: “The Crown have received no requests from the police to release any images from this case.
“We are always available to discuss such requests, including in urgent or out of hours situations.
“It is a matter for the police to decide when to make the request for release to us.”
A police spokesman stated they were in ongoing discussions with the Crown and procurator fiscal regarding the release of the images.
