In the new images his face is still largely hidden. It is not known why all the images were not originally released.
The Crown Office previously said it had received no formal request from the police for permission to release more.
After releasing the new images on Thursday, Police Scotland said: “Police are keen to speak with the male about the ongoing investigation and anyone who can assist in identifying him is asked to come forward.
“He is described as five feet seven inches tall, in his late 20s, wearing a blue or navy blue baseball cap, a dark-coloured hooded jacket with grey-coloured sleeves, dark-coloured jeans, dark-coloured gloves and trainers. He was also wearing a black and white coloured scarf pulled up over his face.
“Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or, alternatively, phone the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
The attempted robbery happened at about 8.50pm on October 7.
